3D Projects

 The Background Box

The two examples above are physical demonstration of a set up of a 2D animation background. On computer software the different layers can be positioned with space between each other in a digital 3D set. Applying this method on the flat 2D layers allows to create 3D effects through camera movement and other effects.

Puppet Making

This puppet was part of a stop-motion animation project while I was in Japan. Here you can see the different steps of the making. With a soldered wire skeleton inside the puppet is very flexible in movement. White sponge, which I died in a colour bath to skin colour, was used to cut and shape the seperate body parts. The puppet is supposed to look a bit spooky, like a lunatic. So I made her eyes very big and white with small pupils, and kept her mouth rather expressionless. For the different animation tasks I made several costumes.

 Clay Puppet

This clay puppet was for a short animation called "swipe and sneeze". Here you can see three different models with different facial expressions of the puppet.
